String Theory, Michio Kaku discussed by Delia O' RiordanAngels Mystery Art and Our Planet

I think I’ve made a case for our visual image of Angels as a cultural icon if not an actual Archetype that would by definition be recognisable to humans of all cultures. But I’ve never been convinced in any case that Angels are archetypes, generated by the collective unconscious in the same sense that the notion of a King or Queen may be an archetype. Those are based on the tendency of humans to select or accept leadership and to identify the leaders with recognisable regalia that sets them apart from the generality.  Angels have no human antcedents as far as we know (unless there is some substance to the legend of Metatron) but our universe is also stranger than we ever imagined.

Angels Mystery Art and Our Planet

Possibly the most intriguing and controversial theory about how we define andParallel Worlds, Kaku, discussed by Delia O' Riordan understand “reality” is “String Field Theory”, one of whose authors is Dr. Michio Kaku (see above left and right). His research, and that of other physicists working on the same problem, has led to the mathematical certainty that there are at least 11 dimensions of “reality” that exist in parallel. Our world is a three dimensional one so that means there must be at least eight other dimensions of “existence” beyond our version of material reality. That leaves a lot of room for speculation as to what those dimensions might contain, whether they might overlap under certain conditions, and  who or what might occupy those dimensions. This is the new challenge for science in the 21st century. For an accessible explanation of the theory (for non-scientists) you might want to read Dr. Kaku’s books, available HERE

Angels, Co-incidence, and Synchronicity

Angels, Creation by E.C. Burne-Jones discussed by Delia O' RiordanWhy all this emphasis on science in a post about “Angels”? Why not? We know pitifully little about our own world much less the universe beyond our solar system; new “moons” around distant planets are still being discovered. We need all the sources of verifiable information we can get to avoid the pitfalls of error and delusion that unverifiable assertions can lead us into. Who wants to believe in a delusion or a misinterpreted piece of information? In a constantly changing Universe nothing can be taken for granted. We want to know what is true as far as we are able to discover but even then we need to leave the door open with regard to future discoveries which could alter our perspective. Learning to live with ambiguity, paradox and the unexplained is the challenge for humanity. At the present time we do not know what Angels are but the world of Art, so closely allied with act of Creation, has given us a rich legacy of artists’ visions of them. As aesthetic images they are inspiring, comforting, engaging, and intriguing as in this painting of the Angels of Creation by Sir E.C. Burne-Jones, a major artist of the Pre-Raphaelite group of artists and artisans in the latter half of the 19th century.

Art and Science Together

These beautiful images aside, we can only speculate based on what we know so far about the different orders of reality revealed by quantum physics. For example, quantum theory demonstrates that we can have some confidence in the origins of matter from a non-material state. Sub-atomic particles that can be studied have taught us that prior to being observed by us, particles are only potentially particles. Dr. Michio Kaku discussed by Delia O' Riordan They actually exist in a state of possibility, neither particle nor wave. Our current understanding of the implication here is that what we perceive to be ‘material reality’ arises from a state of non-materiality, a latent state of energy. Even once in material form, atoms are still composed mostly of space which means that everything composed of atoms is “space”, the domain of potentiality. Since Angels are not three-dimensional beings, it would seem reasonable to assume – subject to further research – that they exist in one or more of the 8 dimensions beyond ours as beings of energy usually invisible to us. In order to communicate with us, Angels would need to attract our attention. Given our limited perceptual apparatus and their state as pure energy, one medium that might work is Light, another might be Sound, a third might be an Intuition or a sudden’inspiration’ that seems to come out of nowhere.  A fourth method might be Co-incidence, the coming together of two or more events that have no causal connection in the cause-effect model of reality that we usually rely upon.  In this context Angels would be the agents of Synchronicity, acting as Messengers between the dimensions letting us know that “they” exist and, for whatever reason, seem to care about us – and, by extension, our planet .

Bringing It All Together

What we refer to as “Angels” seem to be sentient, non-material beings whoseSynchronicity discussed by Delia O' Riordan presence may be suggested by the phenomenon known to us as “Synchronicity”, the co-incidence of meaningful events that cause us shake our heads in amazement. Why do such things happen? The answer to that question is under discussion but until there is a consensus in the scientific community, we can inform ourselves about some of the better documented cases that exist.  I have a long string (pun intended) myself gathered over the past 20 years from events that went way beyond the mathematical probability of ‘mere’ co-incidence. Co-incidence is a repetition of an experience or some aspect of an experience without a logical explanation in the realm of cause and effect. Synchronicity goes much further into the realm of the truly uncanny with chains of meaningful events not related by cause and effect, chains of events that simply cannot be ignored or explained away as ‘insignificant’.  There is a great deal of literature on Synchronicity much of it scientific, much of from analytical psychology, some of it purely anecdotal. All of it has something to offer us in our quest to better understand ourselves and our world. (My computer clock registered 4:44 as I wrote that last sentence. That pattern started at 7:44 this morning and has been repeated all day with times as a multiple of 11, a total of 13 instances whilst I’ve been working at the computer).

The idea that Angels communicate through Co-incidence is not original to me but I hadn’t encountered the idea until a series of Synchronous events drew my attention and curiosity. That is how most people begin to notice Synchronicity. They don’t go looking for it; it finds them. I don’t like events without explanations so I started my quest to figure out what Synchronicity IS by reading those whose work it is to understand such things.

Angels, Synchronicity, and You

Delia's Practical Psychic WebinarsIn my planned Webinar on Synchronicity, we will be looking at this phenomenon from the perspectives of personal experience first in order to establish a context, then from Jung’s analytical/depth psychology where the concept was first articulated, and finally from what science says (as explained by scientists gifted in the art of communicating complex ideas so that the ‘rest of us’ can grasp them!).

What about Readers’ experiences with Synchronicity?

I would love to hear from Readers of this blog about your personal experiences with Synchronicity. This information will not be shared with anyone without your written permission and it does not obligate you in any way to participate in the Webinar.  I am merely curious to see how many of my regular readers have these experiences. It is always nice to know that our weird experiences may be similar to those of other people. My intuition tells me that, sooner or later, everyone has an experience that goes way beyond the ordinary small co-incidence. Not that any co-incidence is unimportant, but we do tend to dismiss them without much thought. Co-incidences that add up and up, however, get our attention which is why science now takes Synchronicity theory seriously as a worthy phenomenon to study. Those who’ve experienced Synchronicity first hand are not so difficult to convince!
