Psychic Readings Paranormal Phenomena

Psychic Readings by Delia O'RiordanThe field of paranormal phenomena including  psychic readings embraces a wide variety of what the late researcher Rhea White called  “Exceptional Human Experiences”.  (Link to site) Within the psychic and paranormal research community there is an ongoing debate as to the appropriateness of using the term “paranormal” at all. It’s a legitimate question. How can we classify an enormous field of experience as para- normal when we are only beginning to investigate the nature of human consciousness and what it is capable of. The truth is we do not know what is “normal” for the entire human race; we only know what is “common” or “average” based on a limited range of research.  I believe that many of the categories of human experience currently studied under the heading of “paranormal” are in fact entirely natural, more common than the scientific community allows, contribute to our survival and development as a species, and though little understood, are the product of evolving human consciousness.

In a sense, then, we could say that “paranormal phenomena” are an expression of the “psychic” side of life whether we are talking about formal psychic readings or such things as precognitive dreams, poltergeists, sightings of ghosts, near death experiences, etc. What we think of “psychic” is just part and parcel of being human and does not stand outside of the human “norm” but we do not as yet have a mechanism to explain how our “psychic” sense works. In addition,  it is extremely difficult to study psychic states and experiences because they tend to be unexpected, spontaneous, and for some of us, unique. There is no agreed upon protocol for scientific study of the paranormal because as a culture the West is measurement based. We like things we can see, weigh, move, or see through with x-rays, CT scans, PET scans, MRI scans, electrophoresis, and other forms of technology that extend the range of our five basic physical senses. However, there is far more in and out of our human world that we cannot see or measure. That does not make it less real.

Paranormal Phenomena

We know that 96% of our Universe is invisible,  what scientists call “Dark Matter”.  We know it’s there but we can’t see it but we know it has to be there because it is the residue from the Big Bang. The search for ‘dark matter’ is  part of quantum physics, the part that includes String Theory, parallel universes, and other wonders that make some scientists very uncomfortable. Being human, scientists are subject to many of the same biases as we are: they feel more comfortable and confident when they can back up their conjectures with “solid proof”. However, science has long since moved beyond the understanding of reality as “solid”.  There are vast distances between the molecules within an atom,  as vast whenSciencePsychicPhenomena discussed by Delia O' Riordan conceived of in terms of scale as the distances between stars or between galaxies! “Solidity” is an illusion and science is about dispelling illusion and replacing it with at least a theory that would explain it. How then do we approach the study of the psychic aspects of human life which are not only invisible but for now at least immeasurable?  The fMRI can reveal which areas of the brain “light up” when we meditate but what does that tell us?  We still can’t “see” meditation, only the evidence of its passing and there may yet be other forms of experience that yield the same sort of reading from our machines so we cannot be sure that meditation is the only “trigger” for the brain’s response.  There is no “solid ground” beneath us anywhere in the Universe. We ourselves  are no more solid than the air we breathe. We may be “denser” but we are not more “solid”.  To exclude the field of psychic experience from our purview would be like declaring that the only things scientists can study are things that can be observed, dissected, weighed, measured, etc. Science has long since crossed the threshold from “solidity”  to what Einstein facetiously called “spooky action at a distance” – the whole field of quantum physics that deals with the existence of whatever there is beyond three dimensional “reality” and that includes psychic experience and all of the forms of experience we classify as “paranormal phenomena”. It turns out that there is a vast body of scientific research with measurable results but most of it is ignored by conventional scientists. I will be examining some of the ground-breaking work done over the past 150 years on seances, psychic photography, electronic voice phenomena (ghosts who speak!), hauntings, psychokinesis (moving objects using only the mind), psychometry and many other aspects of psychic and so called paranormal experiences.  The sheer weight of the accumulated data and the fact that it stands up to even the closest scientific scrutiny should change not only what we view as “normal” but it should change everything we do from child-rearing and education to space exploration and the search for extra-terrestrial life. It’s time to face facts:  we are not just physical beings and it’s time to change the way we live our lives en masse if we want to survive as a species.

It may not sound very ‘sexy’ but it will contain some explosive revelations that will blow the lid off the wide-spread belief that consciousness disappears when we physically die. Some of the most distinguished scientists of the past two centuries amassed shocking evidence that we do survive beyond the grave and their work is being carried forward right now by some very brave, well-respected scientists whose own experience confirms their experimental findings. Why don’t we hear more about them? Find out by reading Psychic Readings: History coming soon to www.psychic-delia.com
